Our school day

Gates open from 8:30am. Between 8.30 -8.45am, children take part in learning activities to encourage a calm, confident start to the school day. The registers are taken at 8:45am, if a child arrives after that, they will be marked as Late. Children have a mid-morning break for 15 minutes. Our under 5's are able to have a glass of milk and all children are invited to have a piece of fruit for a snack.  Our lunchtime is 12:00-1:00pm and the day finishes at 3:15pm.  Please wait in the playground and children will be escorted out by their class teacher.

We have Breakfast and After-School clubs available daily. Pre-booking is essential. Please book through the Reach More Parents App.

Uniform

Children at East Huntspill Primary are expected to wear the school uniform which is blue, grey and white. We believe that by wearing a uniform, children develop a sense of pride in and identify with their school. We encourage all children to look smart during their time at school. All uniforms with a school logo on them can be purchased from https://price-buckland.co.uk/. We also encourage parents to buy generic uniform items from local supermarkets and high street stores to help keep costs affordable. We also hold a selection of pre-loved uniforms available from the school office.

School meals

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are able to receive free Universal School Meals. These meals are provided by Aspens catering at The King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge. The menu is provided on a 3-weekly basis and parents are asked to discuss and complete a menu with their child on the Aspens Select website. As your child progresses into older years, you are able to purchase these meals through the same website.

Children will need to bring their own labelled drinking bottles every day, filled with water only.

Communication

All communication is through an App called Weduc – Reach More Parents. You will be given more information regarding the app upon your child joining us. Occasionally we do need to print letters out to go home. These will be sent home in your child’s book bag.
