It is important that children have a good meal at lunchtime to help them be active and focused upon their learning.
Every child in Reception, Year One and Year Two is offered a free school meal, known as a Universal Free School Meal. If you would like your child or children to receive a Universal Infant Free School Meal, you must complete the application available HERE. Please complete the form and return it to the school office.
Children who attend school may be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), which is provided to children of families who fall under certain qualifying criteria. These criteria, and more information, can be found on the Somerset County Council website here
Our meals are provided and cooked by Aspens at The King Alfred School Academy and delivered to school daily.
Meals are ordered via Aspens Select, which is an online payment system that allows you to order in advance and any time up to 9am on the day for a meal. Registration codes are provided by the office, and you can then register with Aspens here
If you preferred, your child can bring a packed lunch from home. Please ensure that there are no nut-based items in lunch boxes as we do have other pupils with severe allergies. We also encourage packed lunches to be well-balanced, nutritious and healthy to help support the needs of your child.
